Full Description

Start your journey by meeting your guide in front of the Park in by Radisson Hotel near to the SNP Bridge where you’ll get fitted with an E -fatbike, and learn how to use the electric assist, which can help you get up hills without breaking a sweat.

Cycle along the Danube River on cycling paths trough SNP Bridge then carry on pedaling to the Iron Curtain border BS-4 massive concrete bunkers of the second world war which were built along Czechoslovakia’s western borders in 1935-1938. The bunkers were constructed to protect the country’s borders against the raise of Hitler in Germany. Bratislava- Petržalka has around 15 bunkers but only BS-4 and BS-8 have been restored.

Continuing on, your route leads you to next Bunker BS-8 where apart from Iron curtain, and military cemetery you will see a Museum collection comprises original parts of the bunker accessories and devices, special weapon systems, fortress turrets, and other military material from the years between 1920-1938, and it also covers all four essential chapters of the bunker’s history.

Early 1950s during Communist regime was built an Iron Curtain border fortification whereas the borderland was carefully nonstop watched and who ever tried to cross the border illegally then they were prosecuted by death penalty

Nowadays its free movement within EU which is significant change especially for those people who have experienced the communist regime.

Afterward, you will cycle back to the old town where on a occasional stops your guide will brief you about the hidden gems between Bratislava and Austria.
